Do you lament the slow death of the film camera? Looking for something to do tonight? The Nave Gallery in Sommerville is having an opening tonight featuring work made with toy cameras and alternative photographic processes featuring a few MassArt students (including the library’s own Erica Frisk).  Holgas, tintypes and pinholes OH MY! Both the techniques and the imagery evoke nostalgia for days gone by.
For anyone who has taken History of Photography or who is just interested in older camera methods, this show should be really interesting. Creating contemporary work using older technology can have really lovely results. If you can’t make it tonight the show is up until May 21. If the show gives you a hankering to check out some historical photographs, check out the George Eastman House which is the Kodak image archive.
